STORY

Erkan and Tamahine met at a Yoga Camp in India in 2001. After finishing University the same year Tamahine moved to Turkey from England and together they began to search for a land in the Kaz Dag region of Turkey with visions of living and sharing in spiritual and ecological practices and perhaps one day becoming an eco-community.nehir

For the first couple of years they lived simply in a caravan, tents and a tee-pee, teaching yoga and learning to harvest and press olives and soap making. They strived to be as natural as possible, cooking on fire, using only wood and cloth for construction and recycling everything.

In 2005 Nehir Alemdar was born (in the Uk, to ensure a good chance of being born naturally) and they moved into a small farm close to their original piece of land. In these last few years they have been regular hosts for volunteers sharing in gardening, eco-building and eco-energy systems. Tamahine has supported the natural birth movement in Turkey and they have tried their best to be conscious parents to their children.

In 2009 year Ruya Alemdar was born, this time in Turkey with help of natural birth specialist Dr. Hakan Coker.

They have also opened a small Montessori Kindergarden which they are hoping will grow to becoming a primary school inspiring alternative chilhood education in Turkey.

They are currently hosting guests to their eco-camp site that has been opened to guests and groups during the summer season 2010.
